The Holiday shopping season has begun, and we are filled to the rafters with the perfect gifts for you.  We have the best stocking stuffer around. Our staff will help you cross off your list the gifts for everyone in your family. Don’t forget co-workers and teachers.

We are so happy that you choose to support our store and local businesses this year before going to the big box stores and online. A small business supports more in our own local community than larger stores and online shopping.  Make a trip to come and see us this season. You will be surprised to see all that we carry for everyone in the family.  We all thank you in advance for shopping with us and keeping our doors open for 19 years.

Every week a new surprise or game will be played with extra savings. Weekly Sales will be posted. (If you do not have Facebook, call us and we will tell you the weekly sales.)

Goodies are always on the table to eat while you are shopping. Hot apple cider and tea every Friday and Saturday and maybe you will get homemade soup on Saturdays.

Friday, November 10 ^at 6pm, How to Use a Pendulum:  Hands-on class on how to use a pendulum and ways it can help you. Bring your pendulum if you have one otherwise, one will be provided. $15.00

Saturday, November 11^th, 2 PM Spiritual Day Out: Free event. Socialize, discuss a variety of topics. Topic this month is: Show and tell (bring your favorite item to share.) and what are you planning on studying during the winter season.

Friday, November 17^th, 6 PM: Gathering around the fire.  Glimmers the small moments in life we often miss: Find time to find joy and happiness in life. Count your blessings.

 In January we had you make negativity box to write down all past negativity, hurt and anger and put it in the box. For February we had you looking for something that makes you happy.  A moment in time to feel true happiness.  March is for self-love.  Make time in your life to thank yourself, to hug yourself, to feel good about something you have done. We often forget to pat our self on our own back for simple gesture or event.  April we met for awakening and creating positive energy around yourself.  September was the passion of fire.  October was Setting goals and planning for the quite months. 

This is the last for one for the year.  Give us feedback of what you would like to do for next year.

Saturday November 18, 2 PM:  Introduction of stones, rocks and crystals.  

Learn about rocks, how they are made by Mother Nature and what we can do with them. Class is $20 and a 2 hour class, pay in advance and its only $15.

The Dragon Witch will be celebrating her birthday month in November by coming fully out of her comfort zone and will be doing the very first class at Truely Unique of, “Intro To Draconic Magick”.   First time at Truely Unique.

******Friday November 24th 6pm: Intro to Draconic Magick.

Come join the Dragon Witch for a night of dragons…! She will take you to another level, if you’re ready. This class is to introduce you to working with the dragons and finding your inner Dragon. Come talk dragons with Dragon’s Cauldron. 

Class is $20 and a 2 hour class, pay in advance and its only $15.

Saturday November 25^th 2 PM.  Meditation, Grounding and Centering.    Learn a way for your brain to teach your body to relax and de-stress.  Take this class for the first time, or a refresher to better your skills. Class is 2 hours long $15.00.

***Thursday, November 30 at 6pm: This is our newest class for Truely Unique, Wild Curiosities and the Dragon Witch will be offering an Osteomancy class for beginners! Come learn what it all entails, down to even walking off with your very own kit. $50 for the class, pre-register, and its $40! 

Friday December 1^st 6PM: Candle Magick: After this class you will know many ways to make your candles do more, how to dress a candle and how to make it work better for you. $15.00.

Saturday December 2, 2 PM: The Magick of Herbs with Kay.  Join us in folklore, uses, potions, and more when working with herbs every day.  $15.00

Tarot Card Reading with Senah Owens.  Every Friday and Saturday. You can schedule through Truely Unique or by email at tarotbysenah@yahoo.com or drop in and wait for a space. She is also selling Gift Certificates for future readings.

Clearing and balancing your Chakras: Chakra Healing/Balancing every Friday afternoons with Darlene. By appointment or walk-in. Tuning forks, crystals and/or Reiki energy are used to help clear and balance the energy of the 7 main chakras. A thirty minute session is $30.00.  

Also available is a chakra oracle reading session that can focus on a specific chakra. Approximately 10 minutes for $5.00 per oracle card.  Darlene is a Reiki master/teacher with a chakra certification and 30 years’ experience in healing energy.  Email dcandrey@hotmail.com

Kyanite

Healing: Black Kyanite grounds the body when aligning the chakras. Blue Kyanite opens the throat chakra, encouraging communication and self-expression.  It cuts through fears and blockages, helping to speak one’s truth.  It is very useful for public speakers and performers as it strengthens the voice and heals the throat and the larynx.

To recharge this stone, keep it in the natural bowl and cover it with a bit of water to let it sit for only a short time. Kyanite being the stone of nature; loves to connect to its element and will recharge your soul.

Kyanite is a typically blue alum inosilicate mineral, found in aluminum-rich metamorphic pegmatites and sedimentary rock. It is the high pressure polymorph of andalusite and sillimanite, and the presence of kyanite in metamorphic rocks generally indicates metamorphism deep in the Earth’s crust. Kyanite is also known as disthene or cyanite.

Folk Names: Cure All, Dropsy Plant, English Balm, Honey Plant.

Medicinally: Lemon balm has been proved to have beneficial effects on the nervous system. Lemon balm is a very calming herb. The primary use of the plant has been in its ability to restore the joy and zest for life even in the most melancholy of individuals.  It is said that the plant not only helps reduce stress and anxiety, it also sharpens the memory and improves the function of the brain. Lemon balm has been prescribed by herbalists for a good night’s sleep as it aids indigestion and also has a mildly sedative effect.
For thousands of years, lemon balm has provided an effective remedy for nervous problems including migraines, neuralgia, headaches related to tension and stress, hysteria, anxiety and palpitations of the heart.  When hot infusions made of lemon balm are consumed, it induces sweating.  Thus it helps flush out the toxins in the body.  It is even said that a daily infusion of lemon balm promotes a long life. Lemon balm is considered to be a woman-friendly herb as it helps relieve premenstrual tension and the pain of menstrual cramping. Lemon balm is an active ingredient in aromatherapy. It is also believed to work wonders on the skin and is therefore used as a mild external skin wash. Lemon balm is an established remedy for depression and anxiety.  It also has a calming effect on the digestive tract. It therefore effectively combats colic, gas, stomach upset and stomach cramps. Additionally, lemon balm has excellent antiviral properties.  Therefore it relieves pain and itching on the surface of the skin.  It also speeds up the healing of herpes simplex virus which is the cause of cold sores.

Side Effects and Cautions: As far as it is known, there are no significant negative effects from the use of the lemon balm as yet. Excessive contact with lemon balm may induce a bout of dermatitis in some individuals.

Culinary uses:  The fresh or dried lemon balm leaves can be added to green salads, to sandwiches, as well as to marinades and sauces, to vegetable soups and stews. It can also be used as a stuffing for pork, for veal, or for poultry, lemon balm can be used in dishes of vegetables, in many kinds of egg dishes. The lemon balm has a rather delicate taste, and when using, use as much as you need and more in quantity then the other robust or pungent culinary herbs normally used in culinary preparations

Spiritually:  Lunar spells: Lemon balm (as herb or essential oil) may be used in as an ingredient or substitute for magick spells and formulas related to lunar matters (compassion, dreams, family, fertility, gardening, healing, love, peace, promoting sleep, prophecy, prophetic (or psychic) dreams), psychic awareness, sleep, and spirituality and love spells

 Basil Oven Roasted Potatoes

1/4 cup freshly chopped basil, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 to 2 lbs. potatoes chopped, salt and pepper to taste. For added flavor add dried onions and garlic.

1. Cut the potatoes into cubes. Put them in large bowl.

2. Drizzle olive oil over potatoes. Mix to coat evenly.

3. Toss in chopped basil. Add salt and pepper to taste

4. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Put foil on baking sheet.

5. Arrange potatoes evenly on sheet. Bake potatoes 1./2 hour to 45 minutes.

6. Turn and check to keep from burning.   Add more fresh basil after cooking.

Helpful Hints:

• Never use salted butter to grease cookie sheets because salt makes cookies stick.  Use unsalted butter, margarine or shortening.
• When rolling cookie dough, use powdered sugar instead of flour.  Cookies will be a little sweeter.
• A fast way to decorate cookies is to coat the cookie top with egg white diluted with a bit of water and sprinkle with colored gelatin.
• For mock macaroon crumbs, combine 2 cups of bread crumbs (rolled from over-toasted dry bread) with 1 cup of sugar and 4 tsp. of almond extract.
• Moisten the surface on which you lay waxed paper for rolling dough and the  paper will not slip and slide.
• If cookie dough is hard to handle, place it between two pieces of wax paper (floured) and then roll to desired thickness.  Remove top paper to cut cookies.
